FRIESEN: David Richard

WWII Veteran

Passed away on Sunday October 15, 2017, with family at his side at the P.R.H.C., at the age of 95 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.  Beloved husband for 63 years of the late Jean (2010).  Loving father of Bonnie Parish (Frank), Nelson and predeceased by his sons Jeffrey (2015) and Roger (1948).  Loving grandfather of Tanya (Abner), Charlie (Stephanie), Sam, Anna, Jacob (Tracey).  Loving great grandfather of Carson, Campbell, Coen, Caiylen, Abby, Zoe, Ross and Zak.  Beloved son of the late Dietrich and Margaret Friesen.  Predeceased by siblings Dietrich (Dick), John, Peter, Henry, Margaret, George, Frieda, William and Abe.  Lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law: Elva, Diane, Emily, Nora and Joan and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and special friends Maureen, Cindy, Dot & Jim.  A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Friday October 20, 2017 at 1:00 PM.  Visitation two hours prior to the service.  Interment Lakefield Cemetery.  A reception will follow at the family home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of one’s choice as expressions of sympathy.  Friends may send condolences or make donations by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
