Obituary of Hiram "Bing" Armos Jacobs

Hiram “Bing" Armos Jacobs

March 15, 1939- March 7, 2024

One good lookin’ Curve Laker, Big Bing Jacobs passed away peacefully at his home on March 7th in his 85th year.

He is survived by his wife, Leah, his sister Zena, and his children: Tracy (Brian), Bing (Wendy), Barry (Courtney), and Stacey (Clayte). Bing also leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren: Brandon, Chelsea, Delaney (Daniel), Mike, Emilee (Ryan), Zac, Ethan, Cohen, Ashton, Rae, Keelan, his great-grandchild Elliot, with another expected in April.  Additionally, he was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Bing was preceded in death by his loving parents, Coleman and Jean Jacobs, and siblings Dave, Dwight, Eunice, Marlene, and Jennifer.

Bing worked painting barns throughout Ontario, picking tobacco in the fields of Tilsonburg, truck driving in Toronto, and ended his working career serving his community in Curve Lake through public works and home care. Even when he retired, he kept busy maintaining his family’s yards and working out to keep fit. Regardless of his endeavours, Bing had a real passion for life.

An avid car enthusiast, Bing found joy in the roar of engines and the thrill of the open road. He revelled in the simple pleasures of listening to his 50’s Rock & Country tunes during long drives and people-watching from his favourite parking spots. Bing's love for being Nish, NASCAR, and Westerns was well known among his family and friends.

Most of all Bing was a family man, who enjoyed a good family party and taking care of his loved ones. Bing took on the role of the family mail man collecting the mail and delivering to every household to make sure he got in his daily visit. He will be greatly missed by his cat & companion, Bear.

Though he may have left this world, his laughter will echo in our memories, his love will linger in our hearts, and his legacy will endure through the generations.

Rest easy Dad, Papa, Big Bing. Your journey may have ended, but your spirit will forever ride on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
