CLARKE, Doreen
Passed away peacefully at Campbellford Memorial Hospital in her 95th year on March 14th, 2024. Predeceased by her husband Donald (1998). Loving mother of Lynda Whitney (Dave Ingham) and Kelly Martyn. Predeceased by sons-in-law Ted Whitney and Todd Martyn. Step-mother of Peter Clarke, Brian Clarke (Marg) and Ann Irwin (Garry). Doreen will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doreen will be remembered by her siblings Ola Dion, Teresa McCoy, Josie Pearson, Pat Turcotte (Donna), Frank Turcotte, Aurora Cruse (Wayne) and John Turcotte (Allison) and is predeceased by her siblings Harold Turcotte, Barb Turcotte, Reg Turcotte, Marie McGill and Dianne Robson.
Doreen served the Norwood community for over 60 years and left a special impact on it along with everyone around her. Starting with ‘Clarke’s Variety Store’ in the early 60’s, Norwood Home Bakery, Centennial Pharmacy and later volunteered at the Norwood Community Care where she was known as the “New to you” lady.
The family would like to give a big thank-you to Cindy McGriskin and to the staff at Maple View Retirement Residence for their care and support over the last four years. Another thanks to the amazing staff at Campbellford Memorial Hospital for taking special care of Doreen in her last days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES - NORWOOD CHAPEL. A private family service will be held followed by a Celebration of Life at The Norwood Legion Branch 300 (27 King Street Norwood) on Sunday March 24th, from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM.
