I would like to extend my condolences to the Rootham family. I grew up in the same neighbourhood as Bill and we were in 5th grade together at Knobhill school. I would walk home from work many times with Mr. Rootham (BIll's dad) and he was filled with pride that his son Bill had entered into the trades to become an electrician. May he rest in peace. I went to high school with Bill at Thomson and also Churchill. i reconnected with Bill a few years ago and got to play a round of golf with him at Don Valleyand he was so full of life. We had kept in touch but between Hadia Gwaii and Lakefield, it was a tough proposition. This is a sad time for one and all but I will remember Bill as a great athlete at Thomson/Churchill and a good friend one could could count on. Rest in Peace Billy.

My wife Monica and I were so saddened to hear that Bill lost his battle with cancer. We will miss his jovial laughter and his love of all things outdoors. Deepest condolences to his family and friends. He will be forever missed. RIP William

I came across this obituary by coincidence. My deepest condolences to the Rootham family on the passing of Bill. Although I didn't know him.. My late father was brother to Isabel Rootham ( nee Fletcher) . Also in younger years My dad hsd a friendship with your father Ken and other uncles. Robert and Margaret Ann were my cousins. Treasure your memories of Bill. He has joined both your parents but too soon . May you find comfort in one another on his passing Blessings Robert Fletcher

My deepest condolences to Bill’s family. These are pictures taken when we were teenagers, up at the Vlieg cottage. You can see Bill’s silly side in one of the shots.
