EATON: Arthur "Art" Frederic
Passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday March 19, 2026 surrounded by his loving family in his 85th year. Art was a kind, quiet, humble man who enjoyed a 35-year career with General Motors, where he made many lifetime friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed listening to country music and following all kinds of sports. He was a dedicated fan of NASCAR and the Lakefield Chiefs Junior ‘C’ Hockey Club, where you would often find him cheering on the boys. He was a lifelong member of the R.C.L. Branch 77, Lakefield and loved a good game of euchre. He is forever loved, forever missed by his partner and best friend Sara “Sally” Reid. Cherished by his children Lee Reid (Shelley), Kendra Reid (Steve) and Krista Vandenbroek (Ian). Proud Poppa of his grandson Reid Vandenbroek who will deeply miss him and treasure the many great memories they shared together. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Elizabeth and sister Kathy Eaton. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude for all the kindness and support received during this time. A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 77, 10 Nicholls Street, Lakefield on Sunday April 19, 2026 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Memories will be shared at 2:00 PM.
