Dear Family; Please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss. I am always saddened when we lose a loved one, although they are at peace, we still miss them very much. My prayer is that, â??Our Father who art in heavenâ? Grant your desire to see your loved one again thru the sacrifice of His son; the resurrection and Everlasting life. â??thy will be done on earth..â? Amen. â??Death will be no moreâ?, Rev21; Dan Danza

I met Jack Matthews twenty three years ago. I was a repatriated Canadian and I arrived at Trent expecting to be an unwelcome outsider. Jack's TIP program (Trent University International Program) re-introduced me to my home and native land while it also promoted the best values of Canadian Culture to the real international students it was formed to serve. Reading his remarkable notice in the paper has made me think that what little thanks I did express to him was premature because I am only now beginning to appreciate the impact he has made on my life. As I contemplate the many lives he touched and marvel at his grand legacy, I wish to extend my condolences to his immediate family, whose loss is immeasurable. He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again. Yours faithfully, Valentine Lovekin Toronto, 11 September 2007

To Jack's family and friends, I never admired a man as much as I did Jack, and although I was scared of him, he always treated me fairly, and once gave me a very important second chance. Wishing Jane and Angus and Tam all the best.. John Corbett
