Obituary of Gale Edward Knott

KNOTT: Gale Edward

December 25, 1930 – April 5, 2022

Gale entered into the Spirit World at Case Manor Care Community, Bobcaygeon on our traditional territory, on Tuesday April 5, 2022.  Gale Knott of Curve Lake in his 92nd year.  Gale had a very unique sense of humour and smile that will be missed by many.  He was a councillor for Curve Lake First Nation, a Trustee for the Peterborough County Board of Education, an Iron Worker with Local 721, a Rodman, and did several jobs of his own working on bridges, water treatment plants, apartment buildings, hospitals and building the water fountain at the Peterborough Zoo.  Partner and best friend to Marilyn M. Knott.  Survived by his children Edward, Adrienne and Deanna, grandkids Wade, Gaylord, Nodin, Alec, Adam, Amanda, April and Thomas and great grandkids Abram, Gabriel, MacKenna, Meredith, Whitney, Leita, Jacob, Owen, Gavin, Brooklyn and Blake.  Also survived by his sisters Algene, Marion, Shirley, Marlene, several nieces and nephews, especially Krista, Tumba and Lori-Ann, with whom he shared a special bond from the day she was born.  Predeceased by his parents Alexander Knott and Susan (neé Smoke), his wife Irma, sisters Marie, Kathleen, Bertha, Pauline, Marvel (Beverly) and brothers Arnold and Francis.  In keeping with Gale’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A private family interment will follow.  If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, and may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.  A very special thank you to the staff at Case Manor Care Community where Gale received exceptional care.
