Obituary of Zachariah Evan Jacob Bignell

BIGNELL: Zachariah Evan Jacob

Passed away suddenly in Barrie on Sunday June 12, 2022.  Zach attended Hants East Rural High School in Nova Scotia and completed courses in Electrical Engineering and Welding at Sir Sanford Fleming College in Peterborough.  He was a member of CUSW Local and was most recently employed with Hydro One in Kincardine.  Zach was a very gifted athlete in many sports including Hockey, Rugby and CrossFit but in his spare time he loved to sit and play video games with his family and friends. While in Nova Scotia Zach was a part-time deck hand and lobster fisherman but perhaps Zach’s greatest achievement was his position as Infantryman with the Hastings Prince Edward Regiment in Peterborough where he met so many dear close friends.  Zach was a kind and generous man, with a contagious laugh and loved making people laugh.

Loved and missed by his parents Frances Bignell of Nova Scotia and Eric Bignell of Opaskwayak, Cree Nation.  Loving spouse of Melissa Tremblay of Saguenay, Quebec.  Also missed by his brothers Jason (Molly Brownson) of Ottawa and Max Jaymes Bignell of Nova Scotia.  Dear uncle of Eliza Marie Bignell and Hazel Mae Bignell and loving grandson of Maxine Marr (Barry Simmons).  Remembered with love by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends including is military family.  Predeceased by his grandparents Eric and Rachel Bignell and Roland Marr.  Friends are invited to call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Friday June 17, 2022 and Saturday June 18, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday June 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM.  Friends may send condolences by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
