Wynand (Wayne) Van Oostveen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and Opa who was called home to the Lord January 11, 2023. He was in his 80th year. Wayne’s passion was farming which he learned at a very early age. His work ethic was unparalleled. He could never just sit still as he always had a project on the go. He was an avid outdoorsman, and lover of all things nature. Wayne was kind hearted, a “gentle giant”. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He leaves behind his wife, Sue Ann of 55 years his children Andrew (Kathy) Kathy (Marc) and Wendy (Joey). And grandchildren, Kylie, Connor, Haydn, Maxxwel, Maya, Elliot, and Claire. He will be fondly remembered by all his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and cherished friends. A very special thank you to the nurses and doctors of the Palliative Care unit at the Peterborough Hospital and Hospice Peterborough.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – MONK CHAPEL. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on April 22nd at The Hendren Funeral Home Monk chapel, 6 Helen Street in Bobcaygeon with a reception to follow at the funeral home.
