It is with great sadness to hear of Doug’s passing. Doug was a big part of our memories of Christmas sing-alongs, snowmobiling, farming, neigbours, cousin and friend, high dam hunt club cook and prankster. Our community has lost a great mentor and we are all richer to have been graced by Doug’s presence and knowledge. Our sincere condolences

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult of times. I first met Doug at the Boyd Heritage Museum where and Morris Ingram were plying their wood working skills to restore the book shelves and window seats. A true gentleman. In the days to come, I know you will find comfort in the treasure chest of precious memories he has given you, his family, and the community he loved. Jennefer , Jim Gillard and Family

Doug comes to my mind firstly at Knox church helping in so many areas especially the choir where he applied the voice he was blessed with and then memories of his assistance in lodge, but most importantly him just stopping for a chat like Bobcaygeon folks do.
Sandra and I are sorry we won't be able to attend but wish to convey our deepest sympathy to Joyce and Family in this most difficult time. Happy to meet, sorry to part, happy to meet again. Dave & Sandra Adams

To Joyce, Kim, Frank, Mark, Kelly, Marie and Lois,
On behalf of the members of Verulam Lodge I would like to express our deepest sympathies. Doug was a cornerstone of our Lodge and he epitomized the qualities of a Mason. Doug had a tremendous work ethic, with a high expectation of craftsmanship, but he also made sure to make time for friends and family. The man who it seemed would never stop working has finally laid down his tools after a life well lived

To Joyce, Marie, Lois, Mark, Kelly, Kim, Frank and families et al,
Linda and I wish to express our sincere condolences to you all on the passing of Doug. I had many interesting and engaging discussions with him over the years when he and Joyce would come to Bracebridge to visit Marie and my Dad. I also enjoyed his humour, especially the time he was in attendance at my Dad's funeral reception and observing his sister Marie was looking a little thin, told her she needed to gain 50 pounds!! May God bless Doug's soul in Heaven as I am sure he is there, watching over all.
