Uncle Paul touched my life in quiet yet thoughtful ways. Though we didn’t see each other often in recent years, I have many fond memories of the times we shared— this includes Christmas in Ireland while he was studying there, our years together in London, Ontario, when he was in the Seminary and I was at Western (with a little help on philosophy essays), and of course, our Wedding almost 32 years ago, when Fr. Paul officiated our marriage.
As a young child, I remember the special times when Paul lived with Grandma and Grandpa—many trips to the lake for a swim, always followed by a nice big bowl of ice cream. Those simple, happy moments will always hold a special place in my heart.
As our family historian, Uncle Paul dedicated countless hours to creating family history albums— memories that honour our family’s legacy. These books have been an invaluable gift to my dad, Jack—Paul’s brother—who now faces the challenges of Alzheimer’s, bringing comfort and connection when words fall short.
Uncle Paul’s love for family shone through in his passion for preserving our heritage, and I will always be grateful for his dedication. Rest peacefully, Uncle Paul. We will hold your memory close, grateful for all you have given us.
