Obituary of Cameron Elwin Freeburn

FREEBURN: Cameron Elwin

Passed away at Hospice Peterborough, on March 14, 2025.  Cam Freeburn of Lakefield, in his ninety-third year.

Cam was born August 23, 1932 in Smith Township.  He received his education at S.S. #8 Smith and Lakefield High School and was employed in drafting and design engineering at General Electric Canada.  Cam enjoyed gardening, carpentry, hockey, reading, and spending time with family on Clear lake.  Cam’s strong faith was foundational to his life values and devotion to his family. 

Husband of Lorene Freeburn (née Hockaday).  Father of Gary Freeburn (Kathy) and Greg Freeburn (Kim), of Douro Township.  Proud grandfather of Duncan (Jessica), Matthew and Peyton Freeburn.  Great grandfather of Daniel, Joel, Micah, Samuel and Jeremiah. Brother of the late Floyd (Rita), Ross (Chris) and Joan.  Remembered by his brother-in-law John Brooks (d.Faye). Predeceased by his parents James and Violet.

A funeral Service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, on Friday March 21, at 12:00PM.  Visitation to commence at 10:00 AM.
