Passed away peacefully at the P.R.H.C. on Friday March 28, 2025. Ken Wingett of Lakefield in his 92nd year. Ken began his long career with The Hendren Funeral Home at the age of 14 and became a licensed funeral director in 1956. He spent over 60 years helping families of the area in their time of need. He was a lifetime member of Lakefield Baptist Church for 90 years and served as a Deacon and Superintendent. Many will remember Ken for his tireless dedication to the people of his community. His greatest achievement however, was being the devoted husband to his wife of 68 years, Dorothy (Northey) and an amazing father of Duane Wingett (Julie Main), Kathy Hayman (Steve) and Larry Wingett (Mary Brazeau). Wonderful grandfather of Victoria Greystock (Jeremy), Cody Stark, Luke Wingett (Torie), Jake Wingett (Rochelle), Chantal Hayman and Tyler Wingett. Dear great grandpa of Hunter, Rhyker, Rhemer, Felix, Jasper and Archie. Survived by his sister-in-law Carol Wingett and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ruby and Cecil Wingett, brothers Len and Ray, step-grandson Vaughn Brazeau and great granddaughter Charli Greystock. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Sunday April 6, 2025 from 1-5 PM. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday April 7, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
