Bob Harding

Obituary of Bob Harding

Robert John (Bob) Harding

June 3, 1963 – April 20, 2025

It is with deep love and sadness that our family shares the unexpected loss of Robert (Bob) John Harding at his home on Sunday, April 20th 2025. A beloved husband, father, son, and brother, he was the pillar, heart, and soul of our family.

Bob is deeply mourned by his devoted wife, Josette Buisson; his four sons, Phil (Mia), Gab (Audrey), Tyler (Kennedy), and Jackson (Alice); his father, Glenn; his two sisters, Diana (Thom); and Lori and his nephews Mitchell and Lukas. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Jill Harding, on August 30, 2023.

Born in Toronto on June 3rd, 1963, Bob was a force of nature. Surrounded by family, friends, and cherished dogs and cats, he grew up immersed in the Harding tradition of cottage life at Eight Mile Point. A gifted athlete, Bob excelled in a range of sports, with football taking him all the way to the CFL. His relentless discipline and competitive spirit fueled every success. Bob had a commanding presence—not just in his stature, but in his vibrant energy, sharp wit, and innate leadership. These qualities shaped his path at Harding Display, the nearly century-old family business he helped lead with great fidelity and pride.

A Family Man

Bob and Josette had an exceptional bond, they were true soulmates. Inseparable, they did everything together and everything for their family. He was the love of her life and she was his. Their love will stay with her forever and she is deeply grateful for his immense devotion and the strength he brought to their lives.

Bob always led by example. A family man first, his greatest pride lives on in his four sons. He imparted his love for adventure to the boys through summers at Lac de Piles and Lake Chandos, ski trips to Big White, and memorable vacations abroad. He was a great competitor, but an even better teacher. Bob was extremely generous with his time, teaching everyone and anyone who wanted to try. He was there for every game as a fan or coach.

He had a magnetic personality and a bias for parties, people, and dogs. Everyone was always welcome no matter the noise. Out of his deep love of music he created the soundtracks for our lives.

Bob was loyal to his friends and they were loyal to him. He valued and nourished the connections with them, sharing enthusiasm for life. Special thanks to Tom, his cousins Brett and Cris, Sharon & Barry, Maggie & David, Alain & Suzanne, Rick and Hugh and a long list of others who were always there for Bob, as he was there for them. We also want to mention the very special friendship Bob shared with his dear ski buddies, the Big Dogs.

Bob revered his father Glenn, deeply loved his sisters Diana, Lori and his mom Jill. They were of great support during those trying years of illness.

Those who knew Bob will miss his stories, his calming presence… hearing his adventures and his stoic words of wisdom. He made others feel seen, he brought comfort and confidence to all.

Bob’s legacy remains with the countless lives he touched—with his humour, strength, and devotion to family and friends. We will see signs of him… on every lakeside sunny day, every mountain storm, and all songs from The Boss (Baby he was Born to Run).
