Obituary of Kenneth James Johnston
JOHNSTON, KENNETH “KEN” JAMES
March 18, 1943 - May 11, 2025
Passed away at Fairview Lodge in Whitby on May 11th, 2025, at the age of 82.
Ken is predeceased by his wife Susan (née Snow, 2016) Johnston, parents Rita and Ted Johnston, and sister Betty Norlock. Survived by relative Linda (d. Larry) and good friends Glenn and Karen Walker.
Ken worked at Trent University in an administrative support capacity, and prior to that trained horses for Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto and the Kentucky Derby. He loved animals, especially horses and cats. He also had a fondness for country music and shared his love of Mac Wiseman with those close to him.
A service will take place at HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Friday May 16th, 2025 at 2:30 PM, with reception to follow at the funeral home.
