ADAMS: Shirley Evelyn (nee Pearson)

December 23, 1927 – May 11, 2025

It is with sadness that the Adams family announces the passing of Shirley on Sunday May 11, 2025, at the P.R.H.C surrounded by her family in her 98^th year.  Shirley will be remembered for her wonderful smile, warm hugs and generous supply of cookies.  She loved to quilt, crochet, read, garden, bake and volunteer in the community.  Shirley was an active listener, always supportive and interested in what her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in.  She was a lifetime member of Wesley United Church, and a long-time member of Cavan United Church, having taught Sunday School and participating in the U.C.W.  Shirley was the loving wife of the late Elwood Adams (August 25, 2014) and the loving daughter of the late Clara and Erie Pearson from Smith Township.  Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children Janice Sharpe (Robert) of Selwyn Township, Philip (Marguerite) of Peterborough, Katherine Saville (Brian) of Barss Corner, Nova Scotia and Bill Adams of Lakehurst.  Sadly missed, by her grandchildren Terry (Tanya), Steven (Lauren), Melissa (Jeff), Robin (Jessica), Jenny (Trevor), Kara (Stephen), Kimber (Alex), Samantha, and her great grandchildren Cameron, Kayla, Gavin, Henry, Emily, Huxley, Adelaide, Felicity, Chelsea, Mira and Adelyn. Survived by her sister Sharon Pearson (Mike), brother Allen Pearson (Barb) and sisters-in-law Linda Pearson and Ruth Armstrong.  Predeceased by her sisters Leitha Daynes (Morley) and Melva Pearson, as well as her brothers Don Pearson (Lucretia), John Pearson (Helen), Bob Pearson and Harold Pearson.  The family would like to thank Care Partners and especially Donna for helping Shirley remain in her own home until very recently.  They would also like to thank PRHC staff on Ward B3 and Palliative care for such loving care over the last 3 weeks.

Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, on Tuesday May 20, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Interment Sandy Lake Cemetery, Lakehurst.  A reception will follow at the Lakehurst Community Hall.  Memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Church or the charity of one’s choice as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
