Obituary of Elizabeth Madill
Madill, Elizabeth
December 17, 1939 – May 20, 2025
Elizabeth Madill, née Steel, passed away at Hospice Peterborough on May 20th, 2025. Loving wife of the late David Madill (2009). Dear mother of Ken (Dana) Madill of Victoria, British Columbia, Doug (Leanna) Madill of Windsor, and Julie (Sean) Madill Ireland of Cavan. Grandmother of Olivia and Liam. Special Aunt to her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents John and Rubina Gray Steel, sister Barbara Walsh and brother-in-law Allan Walsh.
Liz was a strong, thoughtful and loving woman who was known for her unwavering determination, wisdom and humour. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, enjoying time at the lake and having dinners with family and friends.
Liz grew up in Windsor where she met the love of her life and raised a family. She was a dedicated secretary at the University of Windsor where she made forever friends. Liz moved to the Lakefield area where she began new adventures. She loved working at the Community Care Access Centre, joining golf and curling leagues, aquafit and travelling. As well as being a lifelong volunteer in Windsor and Lakefield, her passion for helping others extended to her love of animals, whether caring for her own fur babies (Marley and Tippy), dog sitting or helping turtles cross the road.
There will be a private family service. A ceremony at the cemetery will be held in the summer for friends and family.
A special thank you to everyone who supported Liz and her family over the past year.
Liz’s legacy of living life to the fullest with love and kindness is something we will carry on with us forever.
