Obituary of Jocelyn Irene Taylor
TAYLOR: Jocelyn Irene
Jocelyn has begun her journey to once again be reunited with the love of her life. Dawson Wayne Watson.
Jocelyn passed away peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Wednesday June 4, 2025 with the knowledge that her mother Mary Hannah Taylor, father Benjamin Taylor, brother George Taylor and her dearest friends Pearl and Rita will be there to welcome her with joy and open arms.
In her next life, Jocelyn will continue her love of travel. In her younger years she had an opportunity to see the lands of Barbados, Venezuela and Mexico. Over the past four years, she was able to travel the air, lands and waters of France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, England and Scotland with her grandson, son-in-law, daughters and nephew Chad Taylor.
Her European tour involved two extra special stops. The first, to Groesbeek Cemetery in the Netherlands to stand by the graveside of her uncle, George Taylor, who did not return home from WWII and the second, a stop at the one and only internationally renowned Monty Carlo Casino!
As if venturing into Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Versailles, walking around the Milan Cathedral, Mont Saint Michel and the Eiffel Tower wasn’t enough, Jocelyn made the trip to British Columbia’s Vancouver Island to be with the Red Cedars in Cathedral Grove, the waters in Tofino and breathe the air with her childhood friend.
The highlight of all of these trips was when she returned to share her memories with her sister-in-law, Melody Taylor, who holds a big piece of her heart.
Jocelyn is survived by her daughters Autumn Watson and Wanda Watson (Daniel Lain), brother-in-law Joe Watson, grandsons Carson Watson, Brennon Hockaday and Dalton Lain. All of her great grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews, God Daughter Frankie Jo, Aunt Eileen, Wendy and Steve Zimmerman and Tracey Sillaby, all of whom hold a special place in her heart.
Special thanks to Dr. Jonathan Mallory, Dr. Hughes, the Curve Lake Home and Community Care team and the PRHC Palliative Care team for all of their kindness during care of our mother, granny, nana, aunty and friend.
Jocelyn celebrated her life, finding beauty and joy in each and every day and she asks that you honour and celebrate her in your own unique way. There will be no graveside service as per her wishes. Jocelyn had many family and friends who lived with vision loss, so she decided to continue her gift of giving by donating her corneas so another would have an opportunity to see the beauty of life. In lieu of flowers, one can consider organ donation or a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. Donations may be arranged by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling the funeral home at 705-652-3355.
