Obituary of Catherine Helen Bennett

Catherine Helen Bennett (née Barron)
July 26, 1955 – June 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Catherine Helen Bennett on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at her home in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, at the age of 69.

Catherine was born on July 26, 1955, in Toronto to the late Helen and George Barron. She grew up in Agincourt, Scarborough, and later made homes in Pickering and Ashburn, where she and her husband Robert raised their family and spent over 30 wonderful years. After retiring, Catherine and Robert settled in Bobcaygeon to enjoy a quieter life surrounded by nature.

She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Robert Bennett, and her sons, Michael and Scott, and her loyal and adored dog Teddy. Catherine was a loving sister to James Barron (of Vancouver), and is predeceased by her brother Andrew.

Catherine dedicated her career to caring for others as a medical secretary and office manager, working alongside Dr. Dindar for many years. She was admired for her warmth, her reliability, and the deep compassion she showed in both her professional and personal life.

Catherine found great joy in her wonderful collection of friends, her love of gardening, and in the cherished dogs that were part of the family over the years. Her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to her loved ones will be remembered always.

A private family ceremony will be held at the gravesite.

There will be an open celebration of life announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Catherine’s memory.  Friends and family may leave condolences or make donations, by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com, or by calling THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME- MONK CHAPEL at  705 738-3222.
