In loving memory of Shawn Ross Murray
June 27, 1967 – June 23, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Shawn Ross Murray in his 58th year. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home, Shawn passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Shawn is survived by his wife of close to 40 years, Betty Ann, his son Joshua (Yolanda) and daughter Jessi-Lyn (Alex). He will be dearly missed by his grandsons Jakob, Hudson and Malcolm, as well as Jakob’s mom Sarah. Predeceased by his parents Deanna and Jim Delaney and Ross Murray. He is also pre-deceased by his in-laws Mary and Charles Hicks.
Shawn will be lovingly remembered by many family members and close friends, but mostly by his brothers Scott (Bev) and Sean Delaney, siblings-in-law Danny (Julie) Hicks, Bonnie (Mauro) DiPasquale and David Hicks, as well as his childhood friend Rick.
Shawn had a passion for snowmobiling, model railroading and classic cars. He loved listening to music on his vintage stereo and taking his beloved dogs Cooper and Charlee for long walks on his property. His love for Toronto sports teams never wavered and he had all the optimism one of those teams would win their title.
Shawn was a kind soul and always looked for the best in any situation. He was never shy about striking conversations with perfect strangers or lending a helping hand to his neighbours and friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, his loyalty, and his big heart.
