Obituary of Ron Sutton
SUTTON, Ronald Earl “Ron”
Surrounded by his family, Ron sadly passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday June 25th, 2025.
Ron was born in Oshawa on September 19th, 1948 to the late Doug Sutton and late Helen Leyden. Oshawa was where Ron honed his skills playing hockey, and especially lacrosse. He was a proud member of the 68’ Mann Cup Champions Brooklyn Redmen.
Ron was an avid fisherman and hunter. In the winter, there would be several trips to Lake Simcoe and the Bay of Quinte where a typical day he would come up empty. Then came April, he would be walking the streams fishing for his beloved rainbow and brown trout. In the fall, it would be coho or chinook salmon. Ron especially loved his time on Stony Lake. He would be on the lake opening weekend until the closing of the walleye season in November. From the point at Sand Haven thru Hells Gate all the way to Burleigh Falls, his line was in the water.
Ron is survived by his wife Theresa, his children Micheal (Raquel), Chris (Denise), Marc, Nelson, Fan (Daisy), Sarge, Diva and Geronimo. Dearly missed by brothers and sisters, Doug (Carol), Pat Reid (Graham), Fred Leyden (Bernadette), Bill (Rhonda), Paul (Ryan and Eric) and Rons long time best friend Derek (Sandy) Dudley. Ron will also be missed by all of his grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his Stony Lake buddies “you know who you are”.
Ron, you have quite a cast to hang out with now. Enjoy your time with them and “we'll talk later”.
