Obituary of Beverley Ann Rome

ROME: Beverley Ann

April 23, 1941- July 9, 2025

It is with very sad hearts that we announce the passing of Beverley Rome, an adored mother, grandmother, and aunt. Bev was well known by her friends and family for her exceptional hospitality, grace, and beauty, both inside and out. Bev was a resilient woman who overcame difficult circumstances at a young age after the passing of her firefighter dad, Orville Rome, in one of Peterborough’s historical fires. Kathleen, her mom, died shortly after that, leaving Bev and her siblings, Sandra (deceased) and Terry without their parents. Bev went on to later marry and have Brian and Dean, two sons of whom she was very proud. Bev enjoyed curling, golfing, gardening, and travelling to warm places. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of being spoiled by Grandma Bev during sleepovers, Thanksgiving family golf tournaments, and special Christmas holidays. Bev faced her late life health issues with bravery and dignity. She was surrounded by family and love in her final days and received exceptional care from the B3 staff at the PRHC.

Bev is survived by sons, Brian (Tina) Bolton, and Dean (Serena) Bolton, her four grandchildren, Lauren, Katie, Charlie, and Ruby, her niece Heather (Lee) Stephens, her nephews Jeff (Julia) Willis, Colin Rome (and family), Kyle Rome (and family), her great niece Mykelti Stephens, and her great nephew Mitchell (Emma) Stephens. She will be fondly remembered by her former husband Allan Bolton, her dear friend Olive Bailey, Jodie and Jim Mulder, and many other extended family members and friends.

As per Bev’s wishes, a private family ceremony will be held. Donations to a charity of choice and expressions of sympathy can be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
