Obituary of Randy James Sampson
In Loving Memory of Randy Sampson
On August 7, 2025, surrounded by love, we said goodbye to a man who was truly one of a kind — Randy Sampson, 65, of Lakefield, Ontario.
Randy was a devoted husband to Maxine Sampson, a proud and loving father to his eldest son Robert Sampson (and his late wife Andrea), middle son Derick Sampson (Wandalee Sampson), and youngest daughter Tiffany Potter(Justin Potter). He was “Papa” to (late)Lilly, Caleb, and Kylie, and a beloved uncle Randy to Owen, who were the absolute lights of his life.
For over 50 years, Randy poured his skill, dedication, and perfectionism into the art of heavy collision painting and body work. His reputation for excellence in this industry was unmatched — not just because of his sheer talent, but because of the pride and passion he brought to all of his projects.
But Randy’s true calling was his family. He was happiest surrounded by those he loved — Traveling the world, sailing away on a boat cruise, singing karaoke with a dirty grin on his face, riding his motorcycle down an open road, or engaging in long conversations filled with laughter, advice, and the occasional - okay maybe not occasional (always correct) opinion. Creative, strong-willed, and endlessly loyal, Randy lived by old-fashioned values and the belief that hard work and love for your family were the greatest measures of a life well-lived.
He will be remembered for his stubbornness, his big heart, his determination, and his ability to light up a room as both an entertainer and a storyteller. He was the rock, the center, and the true soul of his family.
If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever. His voice, his laughter, and his unwavering love will live forever in our hearts. Though we will miss him more than words can say, we will carry him with us in every moment, in every gathering, and in every memory we share. Though he has left this world, Randy’s legacy of love, loyalty, and perfection will continue to live on in every life he touched.
Until we meet again, forever in our hearts — we love you, we miss you, and we will continue to make you proud.
