Obituary of Jane Theresa Hyatt

HYATT: Jane Theresa

Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Peterborough on Friday, August 15, 2025, in her 92nd year. Born Madeline Grace Ray on April 5, 1933, in Truro, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of Jennie Pearl Ray - MacKenzie and Frederick Havelock Tanner.  Jane was the mother of eleven children—ten with her late husband, Donald Taylor: Dawn, Joe (deceased), Janet (deceased), Tressa, Kathy, Marla (deceased), Stephen, Marlene (deceased), Laurel, and Ralph McLean; and one son, Rodger Hyatt, with her partner Bruce Hyatt (deceased).  She is survived by her sister, Linda Rice of Nova Scotia, and will be fondly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends at Extendicare.  A private family interment will be held at a later date at Hillside Cemetery, Lakefield.  Memorial donations may be made to Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
