It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Brown-Jackson, who left us on August 29, 2025. Born in Bognor Regis, UK on October 14th 1927. Dorothy affectionately known as "Dot" or "Dolly", was a remarkable woman whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Brown, and her second husband, Bernard Jackson. She also mourned the loss of her sons, Alec and Leonard Lucks, siblings, and her grandson Christian. Their absence left a void that she carried with grace throughout her life.Despite her losses, Dorothy's spirit remained indomitable. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Gwen, who regarded her as a second mother, as well as stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother and nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Dorothy with them, a testament to the profound impact she had on her family. Her legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire those who remain.
A celebration of Dorothy's extraordinary life will be held on September 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Hendren Funeral Homes - Monk Chapel, located at 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon, Ontario, K0M 1A0.
Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the memories of a woman who gave so much to those around her.
Dorothy Brown-Jackson’s life was a tapestry of love, resilience, strength and connection. As we bid farewell to this remarkable matriarch, we find solace in the countless memories we shared, the lessons she taught us, and the love that will continue to bind us together. May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
