On Wednesday September 3rd, 2025 Audrey passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Survived by daughters WENDA (BRUCE NEIL) and BARBARA (RAYMOND MARSHALL); sons DOUGLAS (HEATHER), and CLIFFORD (SHARON). She is also missed by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

On February 27th, 1928, AUDREY WARD WALSH was born in Port Perry, Ontario, daughter of ANNIE WARD and HAROLD KERRY. After completing her education in Port Perry, Audrey worked as a bank clerk for CIBC.

Audrey married WALTER ALLAN WALSH on Sept. 6, 1947 in Port Perry United Church. Prior to moving to Ennismore in 1972, they lived in Port Perry and Sutton West. In 1987 they moved to their home in Bridgenorth, until they downsized and moved to an apartment in Peterborough. In November of 2021 Audrey moved into Rubidge Retirement Residence. Over the years Audrey and Allan travelled to Australia, New Zealand, most states in the U.S. including Hawaii and Alaska, Canada from coast to coast, and to several islands in the Caribbean.

Audrey was a friendly person who loved to be with her family. Listening to country music was one of her favourite pastimes. She also enjoyed many crafts including knitting, oil painting and sewing. Audrey was an excellent seamstress, sewing everything from business suits to her kids’ clothes, and making made to order window coverings for the fabric store in Port Perry. Another point of pride was some of her oil paintings were displayed in the Buckhorn Gallery.

Audrey belonged to the Chemong Seniors and at one time attended the United Church. Later on, she became active with the Gilmour Memorial Baptist Church, becoming involved in the Mission Circle. Volunteering at Chemong Community Care also kept her busy and brought her joy. Audrey will be remembered for her kindness and her understanding. She never put on airs, dressed to impress, or concerned herself with unimportant things like make-up, knowing that a kind heart was the most important thing, and she always wore that well.
