Russell Alexander (Tubby) Patterson
11 February 1933 – 6 September 2025
Russell (Tubby) Patterson passed away peacefully in his 93rd year with family by his side on Saturday September 6th, 2025, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Beloved husband of Lily (Blodgett) for 68 years (predeceased Dec 2023). Loving Father of Karen (Hugh) Dewart and Ken Patterson, his pal and side kick. Beloved Grandfather to John Dewart (Chantelle Penney) and Rachel Dewart (Chris Richardson). Great Grandfather to Noah and Lily Richardson.
Russell is survived by his brother Norman Patterson, sister Sandra Patterson and Sister-in-law Corinne Nicholson (Allan Bristoe). Dad was known and remembered as “Uncle Tubby” to many nieces and nephews.
Russell is predeceased by his parents Alexander and Florence (McClusky) Patterson, In Laws Clarence and Emma (Fredricks) Blodgett and many sisters and brother in laws on the Blodgett side of the family.
Tubby retired from GM after 34.4 years of service, he would never forget to include the .4 years, he was very proud of the fact that he had been retired longer than he had worked. Dad loved fixing and collecting cars and parts from an early age and it was still his passion. He enjoyed attending Country Music Festivals and camping with Mom. He also enjoyed going to the coffee shop to visit and chat with friends.
Cremation has already taken place and there will be no Funeral service as per Dad’s wishes.
