GIBBONS: Ronald
Long-time employee of OMC, then DSM of Toro/ Lawnboy, Ron passed in the loving arms of his family on September 23, a month after turning 80 years old.
An avid athlete, Ron enjoyed all sports but especially cycling, golf and boating in the Kawarthas in later years.
In retirement he applied his organizational skills to communities in Florida and Charles Court, Lakefield heading their village boards. He also enjoyed the people he met while driving for Community Care.
Nothing delighted him more than spending time with beloved family, Kara (Dan),Jeff (Penny) or his grandchildren Jason (Alanna), Josh (Crystal), Jess (Cam), Addison (Taylor), Trent, Kalen, Laine and Essie and great grandchild, Liam. He will be deeply missed by his brother, Bob (Fenny), his nieces and their husbands. Many thanks for the loving support and prayers of cherished friends.
Rose, his wife of 57 years, was blessed to visit six continents with Ron, and hopes this final destination has lots of sports cars, artwork, dark chocolate, milkshakes, great music, and that he reconnects with loved ones, especially his parents, Bob and Grace.
A visitation will be held at Hendren Funeral Home- 66 Queen Street Lakefield, Ontario on Friday, September 26, from 1pm – 3pm with service and refreshments to follow. Donations to Peterborough Regional Health Centre or Lakeridge hospitals for their outstanding cancer care would be appreciated.
