William (Bill) Buchanan
Bill passed away peacefully at Station Place Long-Term Care Home in Havelock on October 31st, 2025.
Dear husband to the late Ruth Buchanan (2021). Loving Brother of Clare (Rosemary), Anne, Evelynn
and the late Audrey. Beloved father to Rick (Holly), Randy (Adrienne) Rob (Lori) and Ron (Janet).
Cherished grandfather to Amanda, Jessica, Chad, Emily, Alexander, Nicolas, Eliza, Bryce and Abby. Proud
great grandfather to Rylen, Rayna, Camden, Kolbie, Beckett, Lainey, Elliot, Lennon and Rosie.
Bill worked for 3M Canada in Havelock for over 36 years. He was a big Toronto Maple Leaf and Toronto
Blue Jay fan. Bill was involved with Norwood minor hockey and baseball for many years serving as coach,
manager, trainer and the biggest supporter. He was also on the executive for years. Bill also coached in
his hometown of Havelock. One of Bill’s favorite passions was watching all of his son’s sporting events
with pride and satisfaction and communicating to them the important life skill of always to put in a
maximum effort whether in a sport or a job.
A funeral service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, NORWOOD CHAPEL, 36 Queen Street,
Norwood, on Sunday November 23rd, at 11:00am. With Inurnment at Asphodel-Norwood Cemetery.
Following the inurnment, a reception to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at the Havelock Royal Canadian
Legion, Branch 389, 8 Ottawa Street E., Havelock from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
