Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on November 6^th, 2025. Derek Welch of Selwyn Township in his 95^th year. Recipient of the Canadian Centennial Medal, in 1967, in recognition of his work with ex R.A.F. members. Beloved husband of June (Butler). Dear father of Carol Thomas (Bill) of Cavan, Stephen (Caroline) of Peterborough and Diane Garbutt (Bill) of Warsaw. Loving grandfather of Peter, Jason, Derek, Tammy, Courtney, Kristina and Alyssa and great grandfather of Chloe, Aiden, Kylah, Jaxson, Isaiah, Hunter, Lily, Reed, Skylar, Savannah, Wyatt, Elijah, Lenore, Parker, Braxton. Brother of Bernice (Ken Boulton) of England. Predeceased by his daughter Debbie of Trenton. A memorial service will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen St., Lakefield, on Sunday November 16^th at 11:00 AM. With visitation to commence two hours prior. A reception will follow the memorial service in the Heritage Room of the funeral home, with inurnment at Lakefield cemetery afterwards.
