Roger Raymond Lagacé passed away peacefully at his home in Lakefield on the morning of Wednesday, December 10th, surrounded by love. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Denise Lagacé (née Massicotte), who predeceased him two years ago.
Roger was a hard worker from a young age, a quality that shaped his life and the lives he touched.
Though he spent much of his life in the city, his heart belonged to cottage country. That was where he truly thrived — fixing and building things, working outdoors, and enjoying the simple peace of nature. Many cherished memories were made at the cottage, where his family spent summers and countless weekends together.
Roger found joy in the activities he loved most: hunting and fishing with friends and extended family, and playing 500, cribbage, poker, and any card game that brought people together. Once retired, he discovered an even deeper appreciation for life. He laughed easily, smiled often, and brought a spirit of fun to every gathering.
He leaves behind his children Pierre (Dominique), Renée (Dave), and Manon (Carl); his grandchildren Elise, Miriam, Mathieu, Amélie, Joëlle, and Benoît; and his great-grandson Arlo, all of whom he loved dearly and who will carry his memory forward.
Roger lived a life filled with warmth, resilience, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Hendren Funeral Homes Lakefield Chapel, 66 Queen Street, on Sunday, December 14th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by a service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A reception will take place immediately afterward, in the Heritage Room of the funeral home.
