Obituary of Marilyn Elaine Bucknell

BUCKNELL: Marilyn Elaine (nee Jacobs)

Passed away at Toronto General Hospital on Monday December 29, 2025.  Marilyn Bucknell of Apsley in her 76^th year.  Marilyn worked for the B.C. Ministry of Health for 5 years before moving to the National Parole Board of 10 years and finally Provincial Corrections for 20 years before her retirement.  When she and Jim lived in B.C., they loved golfing, fishing, bowling and dancing and Marilyn has a love of shopping.  She is loved and missed by her husband of 54 years, James “Jim” Bucknell.  Survived by her sons Mike and Darrell Bucknell.  Also survived by her sisters Marie Meawasige (Yvon), Bonnie Taylor (Ivan), Lori McCue (Mike), brother Gary Jacobs (Marjorie), sister-in-law Jane Jacobs (Lenny) and several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Nelson and Dorothy, sister Beverly Virth (Geza) and brother Joe Jacobs.  A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield on Sunday January 11, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.  Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association as expressions of sympathy and may be made by contacting the funeral home at www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
