
Obituary of Doris Roseline Lowry
LOWRY, Doris Roseline (née Davis)
Passed away January 1st with her family by her side at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre palliative care unit. Born Dec 11, 1937 in Peterborough, first child to Evelyn and Everett Davis, Doris was predeceased by her sister Arlene and brothers, Eric, John “Jack” and Bernard. Will be lovingly remembered by brother Stephen (Jean).
She will be forever missed by her husband Phil,of 69 plus years. It was 1956 they were wed after a lifelong friendship. They resided in the family home built by Phil, on Stoney Lake where they raised their family. They travelled Canada with their children as they grew into adults. Doris (Mom) worked 31 years at Unimin in Nephton, the last 12 of those years as Office and Personnel Manager. She was also active with UCW for many years.
After retirement mom and dad spent several years as snow birds in the Clearwater area of Florida where they made many friendships.
In recent years mom and dad moved to Kawartha Heights retirement residence and enjoyed their time there.
Mom leaves behind her devoted husband Phil, daughter Karen (Chris) and Greg (Chris). Her devoted grandchildren Nathan (Carla), Kristin (Tom), Jami (Shaun) and Mitchell (Victoria), and great-grandchildren Daymin, Marley, Huxley, Evelyn, and Joshua.
The family would like to thank Dr. Carr for his 20 years of care. They would also like to thank all of the amazing staff at PRHC for the wonderful care she received over the last few weeks, especially Candace, Thomas, Kerri, and Dr. Verma for their care in her final days.
Doris leaves behind family and friends who cannot imagine life without her, but are all grateful for the times we shared and the everlasting memories we will cherish.
Mom was devoted in her faith and is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord.
Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life to follow in the Spring.
