Ruth Doreen Fortin

June 10, 1938 – January 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Ruth Doreen Fortin. Ruth was a beloved mother, friend and an inspiration to many who knew her.

She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Ruth’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She loved to spend time camping, sewing, and knitting. Ruth loved to go out to eat and to go for manicures and pedicures.

Ruth was a loving mother to Gerald & Peggy Reyner (Fortin), Edward and Diane Fortin (Dore), Robin and Debbie Fortin (Barton) & Linda (Fortin) and Brian McDonnell. Ruth had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Ruth loved to spend time with her siblings, Althea Ann Bowler, Anna Parkinson and Arnold Noble. She looked forward to having lunch with them at Harvey’s.

The family wishes to thank Brenda Himmelman, her friend and Community Care Driver for many safe trips to PRHC. We also would like to thank the VON workers who took special care of her on a daily basis.

Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation by visiting www.hendrenfuneralhome.com or by calling 705-652-3355.
