Sheila Marion Lutes (Greenley)
March 1, 1939 to January 23, 2026
Sheila passed away peacefully, surrounded by love at Pleasant Meadow Manor in Norwood ON, on January 23rd in her 87th year. Sheila was the beloved wife of the late Richard James Lutes. Loving mother of Heather (Duncan), Donnie (Samantha) and predeceased by her daughter Joanne.
Cherished grandma to Crystal (Michael), Derek, and Donald and great grandma to Ziva and Silas.
Predeceased by her parents Phil and Marion Greenley of Peterborough and a dear sister to David (Audrey) and Wayne (Dorothy).
She loved and was proud of all her nieces and nephews.
She loved being a wife and mother; a teacher; and a friend to all. For her, teaching was not a job, it was a calling. Her life was full of love and adventures. Sheila traveled around the world by train, plane, cruise ships and road trips. It was exciting to see the world through her eyes as she searched out new place to see and old ones to rediscover. She considered Florida her second home with the many friends she made while vacationing there.
Auburn Bible Chapel was her church family, and she valued the nurturing provided through the teaching of the Scripture and the support of the congregation.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Meadow Manor for the ongoing care, support and love they have shown to Mom during the past three years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – NORWOOD CHAPEL. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sheila's life on Wednesday, January 28th at The Hendren Funeral Home (36 Queen St. Norwood ON). Visitation is from 12:00 PM till 1:00 PM with service to follow at 1:15PM. A reception will be held after the service at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 300 (27 King St. Norwood).
