Obituary of Margaret Killeen

KILLEEN, Margaret (nee Aiken)

 

Born in Millbrook Ontario, Margaret passed away peacefully at Victoria Manor on February 5th, 2026. Beloved wife of the late John Killeen, she was predeceased by her parents Harvey and Barbara Aiken, sisters Isabelle Challice and Barbara Munneke. She is survived by her children, Rosemary Killeen (Brian Moon) and John David Killeen (Jonna Pedersen-Killeen), her brother Tom Aiken and brother-in-law Albert Munneke (Karen Christopher). 

 

She will be dearly missed by grandchildren Scott McGilvray (Brigid O'Riordan), Caryn McGilvray (Callum Wright), Andrew Moon, Matt Killeen (Leyann) and Chantal Killeen as well as great-grandchildren Declan Killeen, Lochlann Killeen, Derek Schutt, Henry McGilvray, Charlotte McGilvray, Cecilia McGilvray, Hamish Wright, Lucy Wright and by her many nieces and nephews. 

 

Margaret was a long-time teacher and dedicated volunteer. She contributed to many groups and organizations in Bowmanville and Lakefield over the years.

 

The family would like to give a special thank-you to the staff of Victoria Manor in Lindsay for their care of Mom in her last year.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. A visitation will take place on March 28th, 2026 at The Hendren Funeral Home (66 Queen Street, Lakefield) from 11:00 AM till 12:00 PM, with a service beginning at 12:00 PM.
