Obituary of Shirley Joyce Myers

MYERS, SHIRLEY JOYCE

Passed away at Peterborough Extendicare on February 12, 2026, at the age of 91. Shirley Myers (née Byers) of Lakefield was the beloved wife of the late Dale Allison Myers (d. 2015).  Dear mother of Karen (Wayne) and John (Joyce) Myers. Devoted grandmother of Craig (Dawn) McConkey, Kelly (Dave) McConkey, Laura (Tyler) Myers, Amanda Myers, Lucas Myers, and Christopher Myers. Loving great-grandmother of Jordan (Melissa) Parberry, Hunter (Shawn) McConkey, Nick Parberry, Beau McConkey and Seamus Callahan. Shirley is survived by her sisters Sharon (d. Tom), Sandy (d. Bob), and daughter-in-law Ursula (Greg). Predeceased by sons Rod and Bill.  

Shirley was devoted to her family and loved spending time with all her relatives, and especially the babies. She enjoyed shopping and a glass of wine, and was known for her whistling. Shirley knew everyone in Lakefield and will be dearly missed by all.

Shirley’s family would like to thank the staff of Peterborough Extendicare for their support and care of Shirley and her family during her stay with them.

Arrangements have been entrusted to HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL. A Service will take place on Friday February 20, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, 66 Queen Street, Lakefield, with a visitation one hour prior.
