Glenn Irwin

Obituary of Glenn Christopher Irwin

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Christopher Irwin on Thursday, March 12, in his 61st year.

Born on February 10, 1965, Glenn was raised in Norwood, where he attended both the local public and high schools. In his youth, he worked as a "dock boy" at his family’s resort, the Irwin Inn, owned by his grandparents, Ross and Norma Irwin. He developed a lifelong love for the water and was an accomplished water skier and avid hockey player well known within his community. Glenn also shared a deep passion for fishing and camping with his son, Brennen.

After moving from Norwood, Glenn attended Humber College, became a Millwright, and held various positions across the GTA. He resided in Brampton for many years before moving to Newmarket in 2001, and shortly after in November 2002, his son was born. Becoming a father was truly the highlight of his life.

Glenn will be deeply missed by his son, Brennen; his devoted parents, Garry and Ann Irwin; and his brothers, Steve (Lorena) and Brent (Jaime). He is also survived by his nieces, Sarah, Emily, and Avery; his nephews, Liam and Kyle; his Uncle Dennis (Patti) Irwin; Uncles Peter Clarke and Brian (Marg) Clarke and Aunt Linda Whitney; and many cousins. He held a special place in his heart for his Aunt Maryann (Nancy) and greatly valued their continued support. Glenn also leaves behind his close childhood friend, Andy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOME – NORWOOD CHAPEL.

Interment graveyard service for the family will be announced at later date
