KNOTT, VIVIEN MERLE
Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on March 25, 2026. Vivien Merle Knott (née Shilling) of Curve Lake at the age of 83. Beloved wife of Cecil “Junior” Edward Knott of 62 years. Dear mother of Holly (Vince) Jacobs. Devoted Nana of Brett (Kerri), Theodore (Stefanie), Benjamin, Samuel, and Sean. Vivien is survived by siblings Eugene, Jerry, and Sylvia “Giga”, and sisters-in-law Rita and Edith. Predeceased by parents Dudley and Roselle Shilling, son Justin, and siblings John, Truman, and Wesley. Vivien will be dearly missed by special friend Regina and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Vivien started her career as a Curve Lake liaison worker, and was a hairdresser for many years. While living in Toronto, she attended the Toronto School of Business and later worked for the TTC. Vivien also worked for Quaker Oats for 25 years and was a world traveller throughout her life, journeying to places like China and Jerusalem. She was a language speaker, and a great auntie not afraid to keep her nieces and nephews in line. Vivien was an avid fan for many sports, including curling, tennis, baseball and hockey. She played baseball as a pitcher up until a couple of years ago, and was on the Survivors Abreast Dragon Boat team for many years. Vivien loved to support Curve Lake sports, and if she wasn’t on the field playing she was cheering in the stands.
