Obituary of William Alan Grieder
April 14, 1953 – June 29, 2026
Passed away at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Monday, June 29th, 2026 in his 73rd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Kathy Grieder (née Woods). Loving father of Ryan and James (Kelly) Grieder. Brother of Sharon Miller and Brenda Grieder. Brother-in-law of Gord Miller, Brenda Woods and Steven (Charlene) Woods. Uncle of Stephen (Heather) Miller, Tracey (Robert) Dunford, Tanya and Paul James “PJ” Pickard and Jessica Woods. Great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jean Parkin and James “Jim” Grieder, step-parents Roy Parkin, Birdell Grieder (Wilson) and Helen Dunn, his father and mother-in-law Joseph and Verna Woods, and his brother Robert.
Bill worked at Fisher Gauge as a machinist for 37 years. He was an auxiliary constable for a short time in his earlier years and drove a school bus in his later years. He was always tinkering on a project, whether it was electrical, woodworking, or fixing cars and radios. He was passionate about his walkie talkies, police scanners, and CB radios. Bill liked to lend a hand and help out his friends and neighbours, from taking in their recycling bins to fixing up anything broken. He loved being out in nature and spending time at the trailer. He would often be found sitting outside under a tree in a lawn chair. Bill enjoyed both listening to country music and playing his steel guitar. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family, especially a walk with Kathy and the kids, or working on some of his home projects together. He looked forward to decorating the house together for Christmas and attending family reunions, birthdays, and other important events.
Arrangements have been entrusted to HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES – LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, with a private celebration of life to take place. Bill’s family encourages everyone to do something kind in memory of Bill and his generous nature.
