Lacey Wease

Obituary of Lacey Wease

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lacey Elizabeth Laura Wease.

To be in Lacey’s presence was a gift in itself. She had an enormous heart and a capacity for love that extended to everyone around her, including people she had never met. Lacey had a rare way of putting others before herself, always wanting to make sure that everyone else’s cup was full, even when her own was running low.

Lacey was an absolute beacon in this world. She brought warmth, kindness and compassion wherever she went, and since she has left us, the days seem a little dimmer without her light.

Lacey leaves behind her two beloved children, Lincoln and Lily, whom she loved and cared for deeply, and their father, Scott; her parents, Kirk and Kimberly, and her late stepfather, John; her siblings, Mike (Ashley), and children, Madison and Aiden; Brandon and his children, Hailey and Emma; Kody (Kateland) and their children, Kristopher, Kallen, Karsen and Kayne; Cole (Brad), Amanda, and children Rita; her grandfather, David; her late grandmothers, Sharon and Doreen; and her extended family, including her cousins, aunts and uncles. She will also be deeply missed by those she considered family, including her former sister-in-law, Sherri, as well as her many dear friends, including Alicia and Tracey.

Lacey was loved by so many, and the impact she had on the people fortunate enough to know her cannot be measured.

Lacey was the kind of person who made people feel seen. She was genuine, pure-hearted, generous and kind. She never needed a reason to care for someone. She simply did.

We ask that you remember Lacey for who she was while she was here: a remarkable human being who believed that everyone deserved kindness, dignity and compassion.

And if there is one way we can carry Lacey’s legacy forward, let it be through the way we treat one another. If you see someone struggling, take the time to learn their name. If someone is less fortunate, offer what you can. Buy them a meal. Sit with them. Speak to them. Remind them that they matter and that they are valued. And when you have the chance, create something beautiful in her memory: a painting, a piece of art on a canvas, or simply something made with love. Let it be a reminder that love and kindness can leave something beautiful behind.

These small acts of kindness are the very things that made Lacey who she was. Through each act of compassion, each moment of connection, and each piece of beauty we create in her honour, a little piece of Lacey continues to live on.

Ohana means family, and family means that no one gets left behind or forgotten.

Lacey, you will never be left behind. You will never be forgotten.

Your light will continue through your children, through your family, through your friends, and through every person who carries a little more kindness into the world because they knew you.

We love you. We miss you. We will carry you with us always.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
