Obituary of Katharine Mary Davis-Ormerod

David-Ormerod: Katharine Mary “Kay” Katharine Mary “Kay” Davis-Ormerod, who was born in Wigan, England on March 26, 1928, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday February 13, 2017. Kay’s two husbands, Eric Davis and Christopher Ormerod predeceased her. Before moving from England to Canada in 1956 with her husband, Jack Wilkins, and two young children Susan and Graham, Kay trained and worked as a registered nurse. After settling in Ottawa, Kay dedicated herself to raising her family, which included two more children, Tony and Katharine, and later managed the Day Care at Carleton University. Kay also invested several years as a volunteer councilor on the local school board. In her retirement years, Kay moved to Bridgenorth and immersed herself in numerous activities, including golf, bridge, Scrabble games and travelling. For the last few years, Kay resided at Canterbury Gardens in Peterborough, where she greatly appreciated the high level of care and support. Along with her four children, Kay is lovingly remembered by her seven stepchildren, nine grandchildren and a recently arrived great granddaughter. At Kay’s request, there will be an informal reception to celebrate her life, in the Fire Side Lounge, Canterbury Gardens, on Friday February 17, 2017, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
