Obituary of Stanley David Turner

A most honourable English Gentleman…. STANLEY DAVID TURNER who passed away peacefully in his 84th year with family by his side on September 29th, 2012 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.  He was the youngest boy of 13 children, born in London, England where he served in the British Military before coming to Canada.  Making his home in Bobcaygeon over the past 6 years with his spouse of 16 years, Judith Brooks.  Stanley was predeceased by his wife Rose “Babs” Turner.  Proud father of Garry (Karen); Richard (Donna); Theresa; and Scott (Shelley).  Shining light in his life were his 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Survived by his 2 sisters, Joyce Soulliere of Pickering, and Jean Hanson of London, England.  Stanley was a long term employee of Firestone in Whitby, and General Motors in Oshawa.  In this retirement years he enjoyed travelling, playing euchre, and relaxing at the family cottage at Bass Lake.  Please join our family as we celebrate the life of a remarkable man at Monk Funeral Home, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Service at the Monk Chapel on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.  If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence, donations, memories and photos may be placed at www.monkfuneralhome.com
