Obituary of Patricia Scott

Patricia Scott (nee Spink) Sept 08, 1920 – October 03, 2012 After 92 years of a life well-lived, Patricia Scott passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Beloved by her late husband John ("Scottie") and by her children Leslie McLaren (Doug Crain), John Scott (Audrey), Julia Prange (Duncan) and Bill Scott (Julia) and by her grandchildren Rebecca, Meaghan, Andrea, Tristan, Joe, Tricia, Taylor, Katelyn, Martha, Brendan, Cecilia, and Molly, and her great grandchildren Jacob and Harrison. Predeceased by her sister Kaye Villeneuve.   Pat spent her childhood in Ottawa and later Montreal - where she attended Sacred Heart School.  She married Scottie and supported him throughout his career as a senior officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Their many postings, which included Washington, Edmonton, Nova Scotia and Ottawa kept them on the move all the while raising four children. Always up for adventure, they moved to a farm in Dunsford Ontario, where Pat continued to raise her family, and enjoyed golf and curling. Later she and Scottie spent many winters in Panama City, Florida. She was a fierce competitor on the golf course not only counting her own strokes but all of her partners. Pat was always a wonderful host, entertaining her friends and family with excellent food. She was also a bit of rebel with a sense of humor…from blowing smoke rings to dancing the hula -a legacy we will always cherish.     After 30 years on the farm, Pat and Scottie moved to Bobcaygeon. She later moved to a retirement home in Oakville, returning to her beloved Bobcaygeon to spend her last days. Thank you to the staff at Pinecrest Nursing Home for the personal  care and great kindness she received these last few months   We will miss Pat’s warm smile, chocolate brownies, and elegant golf swing, but we will carry her memory in our hearts and minds forever.   A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The United Way. Arrangements provided by MONK FUNERAL HOME, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063). Messages of condolence, donations, stories and photos may be shared at www.monkfuneralhome.com.
