We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our father Dwight, fondly known as Red, 79 years of Bridgenorth, on Tuesday February 13th, 2024. Cherished husband to Dianne, and loving father to Scott (Christine) and Ronda (Mike). Dwight will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Brianna (Craig), Harper, Brynley and Daxton and father-in-law Merl Cockburn. Dwight is predeceased by his Parents Joyces and Orval Shewfelt, as well as his little brother Dale Shewfelt.

Dwight Grew up in Peterborough and has lived in the area his whole life, he was a valued lifelong employee of General Motors. On his last day working at GM, Dwight was astonished that GM had organized a special radio broadcast and clap out, for he was one of the first 40+ year serving employee to retire.

He was talented and well known in the village of Bridgenorth, easy going guy who had countless adventures and stories to share. Many nights of tales and laughter were common when Red was around. A gentle loving man who would help anyone in need. His great loves were stock car racing and time spent at the hunting camp. Dwight was an unwavering dad who spent many hours with his son Scott racing go-carts all over southern Ontario, he was an accomplished repairman of all types of outboard motors.

Recently, Dwight was busy keeping up with the three smallest grandkids, He enjoyed watching them playing rep hockey at the rink. Our father will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
