Obituary of William Welsh

Peacefully with family by his side at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Monday, December 28, 2009, Bill Welsh of Bobcaygeon at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Roberta Welsh, in 2006. Father of Nancy Welsh of Burnaby, BC; Barbara Welsh of Peterborough, Joanne (Brett) Irvine of Haliburton and the late Gloria. Grandfather of Colin Johnston and Shawn Welsh. Great-grandfather of Cody and Josh Johnston. Brother of Ethel Hockett of Oshawa, Isobel Truckle of Lindsay and the late Hazel and Gladys. Bill was employed by the Toronto Transit Commission for 30 years as a bus, streetcar and subway driver. Bill retired from the TTC at age 53 and farmed in Fenelon Falls until he retired again and moved to Bobcaygeon. Family and friends will be received at Monk Funeral Home, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon (866-393-0063 or 705-738-3222) on Friday, January 1st from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, January 2nd from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. Interment Ingoldsby Cemetery in spring 2010.
