Obituary of Ken LONG

Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home, Lakefield on Sunday July 15, 2007, in his 96th year. A decorated veteran of WWII, he served on RCN corvettes protecting Allied convoys from U-Boats in the Battle of the North Atlantic. Ken was a member of the Canadian Legion. Ken was born and raised in Peterborough and worked for many years at Raybestos. When Ken was 50, he and his wife Jean moved to Auckland, New Zealand until he was 75 and then returned to the area. He was a member of the Horticultural Society and the Masonic Lodge. Sadly missed by his daughter Kendra Conn of South Dartmouth, Mass., U.S.A. Also missed by his grandchildren Charles of Ketchum, Idaho, Barden of Greenland, New Hampshire and his great grandchildren Alexander, Cameron, Hannah and Isabelle. Survived by his sister Midge Foley of Peterborough. Predeceased by his wife Jean in 1997. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Toronto.
