Obituary of John McKew

It is with sadness we announce the passing of John Samuel McKew at Ross Memorial Hospital at the age of 97. He was born in Dromore, County Tyrone, Ireland. Loving husband of Gertrude (Hogan) for 31 years. Brother of the late Norman McKew. Brother-in-law of Georgie McKew of Bobcaygeon, Isabel Hogan and Carol Lawless, both of Cobourg and Sheila Rooney and Joan McIntosh, both of Port Hope. Sister-in-law of Doreen Hogan of Toronto. John was a great outdoorsman, enjoying golf until he was 94. As well, he had a wonderful Irish tenor voice entertaining many with his Irish songs. Family and friends will be received at Monk Funeral Home, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon (705-738-3222 or 866-393-0063) on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 from 11 a.m. until service time in the chapel at 12 noon.
