Obituary of Frances Helsing

HELSING, Frances (nee Crouse) Peacefully with family by her side on Monday, August 18, 2008 at the age of 70, after a difficult battle with West Nile virus. Cherished wife of 40 years to Bob, loving mother to Mark and Jen (and mother-in-law to Geoff), and doting grandmother to Karsten. She will be dearly missed by her brother Frank, her cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as by her many friends all over the world. American by birth, as an adult Fran was allured by the Canadian way of life, meeting her husband in British Columbia, then moving to Ontario, ultimately becoming a Canadian citizen, and raising her family here. Fran enjoyed a full life characterized by adventurous world travel, a great selflessness and a gentle spirit. Her life quest was for inner calm and balance which she pursued through her meditation, and her unceasing desire to live as best as possible in harmony with nature. She was a practitioner of life-long learning, always seeking new things on which to educate herself, as well as pursuing noble causes for the benefit of all. A profoundly good and generous person, Fran was a shining example for everyone who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Fran""?s Life will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church Hall, Lakefield on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 1:30 - 3:30 P.M.
