Obituary of Cora Hendren

On July 2nd, Cora passed away with grace and dignity, the way she had lived her life. Her final days were with family at her side, as she had wished. Loving wife for 52 years of the late Donald Hendren. Cherished mother of Donna Crozier and son-in-law Jim; son Rod Hendren and daughter-in-law Mary Lou; son Gord Hendren and daughter-in-law Cathy. She was an inspiration to her grandchildren: Lauren Vaughan, Kent Orton, Michael Hendren, Steve Crozier, and Emily, Laura and Julia Hendren. Cora was predeceased by her parents William and Minnie Charlton. She will also be missed by her extended family. Cora was blessed with many loyal, lifelong friends and treasured them dearly. Her zest for life spanned many interests: music, yoga, arts and literature, politics, bridge and travel. Cora was a lifelong resident of Lakefield, member of Lakefield United Church and supporter of many community initiatives, most recently the new Lakefield Medical Centre. As an active member of the Lakefield Historical Society, Cora took great pride in the history of Lakefield and area. Cora""?s family and friends will always treasure her unstoppable spirit, her sincere concern for others and her down to earth approach to life. Friends and relatives may call at THE HENDREN FUNERAL HOMES, LAKEFIELD CHAPEL, on Sunday July 5, 2009 from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. A private family service will follow. Interment Lakefield Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lakefield Primary Healthcare Campaign as expressions of sympathy.
